Have you ever been at the wrong place at the wrong time at some point in your life?
I can remember on several occasions growing up and even into my adult life that I was at the wrong place at the wrong time! When I remembered those moments, I finally put two and two together. I noticed that my choices and decisions are the very reason I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. So, if my choices and decisions put me in the wrong place then my choices and decisions can also put me in the right place.
Believer, everyday we are faced with what seems to be very small and insignificant choices and decisions. However, if those choices and decisions are not being made with the Word of God as your final authority, you will find yourself at the wrong place at the wrong time. It's important that as followers of Christ we are being led by the Word. The Word of God is our manual for living and the basis for our decision making. The Bible is filled with the knowledge and wisdom of God.
Paul prayed a prayer in the book of Ephesians for the Christians at the Church of Ephesus and this is what he prayed:
Ephesians 1:15-23 "Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe..."
I love that he prayed that God would give them understanding, wisdom, and knowledge. He also prayed that God would open their eyes and give them clear vision and sight. That's good stuff!
So, believer you have a choice in the matter! You can make decisions based on the Word that put you in alignment with the Word of God and produce peace, joy, and calmness in every situation. When you and I make decisions based on the Word of God, we put the responsibility back onto God that he will perform His Word. We know His Word will not return unto us void, so the result is that we find ourselves blessed and walking in the overflow because we are at the right place at the right time.
