Day 3: Consecrated to Him

The word “consecration” means: the action of making or declaring something.  Jeremiah 1:5 says that before we were born, God sanctified us.  He set us apart for His purposes.

Distractions have a way of creating and maintaining an atmosphere of chaos.  The swirling, churning whirlwind of life has a tendency to hold us hostage from the clarity that comes from time in His Presence.  In such chaotic environments, we are unable to clearly hear and understand God’s voice.  Oftentimes, distractions pull us away from our genuine focus.  When we are distracted, we fall for an artificial substitute for not knowing what God’s calling is for our lives.

God desires for you to understand that He has set you apart for His purpose.  Do you know what your God-given purpose is for your life?  Your purpose is to know God and your assignment is to make Him known.  The details can only be revealed as you consecrate yourself back to God.  My prayer for you today is that God, by His Holy Spirit, will stir up the gifts and callings He has placed in you; that you would find the joy that comes from discovering Him.
